I just want to say congratulations to the Apache Directory Studio guys on winning the award for Best Open Source RCP Application at EclipseCon this week. Apache Directory Studio is absolutely the best LDAP GUI editor there is. So congratulations to Pierre-Arnaud Marcelot and Stefan Seelman. Nice job guys!
Apache Directory Studio 1.0 for LDAP
Posted by Chris Custine in Identity Management, Java, Uncategorized, ldap on September 6th, 2007
This week the Apache Directory project released the long awaited Apache Directory Studio version 1.0. Being on the Apache Directory project of course I am biased, but I really think that Directory Studio is the best LDAP administration tools out there, and that includes many commercial offerings. Most of the Apache Directory team is in Cologne Germany this week at the 1st annual LDAPCon conference on… you guessed right, LDAP. We are starting to get a little more attention these days on the Apache Directory project so it has been nice to meet and learn about new users of our project. Even in the other extreme, there are many people that aren’t even aware of the project, but many are learning about it from the publicity surrounding the Directory Studio release. I have met several people here at LDAPCon this week who knew about Directory Studio, but who had no clue that we also have a 100% Java Open Group LDAPv3 certified server implementation called Apache Directory Server.
I suppose I will blog more about these products in the near future, but the release of Directory Studio 1.0 is a huge accomplishment made by two fine members of our team, Stefan Seelmann and Pierre-Arnaud Marcelot. Absolutely brilliant work guys, congratulations.
